These questions are related to my background and experience. They can help you get to know me on a personal level.
How did you learn to build websites? School, online courses, or on your own?
I am a self-taught web designer and developer. While I did not go to school to learn how to build websites, I’ve spent years taking online courses, learning through reading articles and reviewing others designs and code and through hands-on experience.
I have built over 200 custom websites in just about every industry so my experience has allowed me to become an expert in this space. I am dedicated to continuing to learn so I can truly grow as a web designer and developer.
How do you keep up with current web design trends and technologies?
I subscribe to a variety of design blogs and newsletters. One of my favorite newsletters is from a web designer and developer who is also passionate about journalism. He has a weekly newsletter that outlines the latest and greatest trends in web design and development.
How many years have you been designing websites?
I currently have 7 years of experience working as a web designer, developer and SEO. In the past, I have worked for a number of web agencies in a lead or overflow designer/developer role. Today, however, I am focused on working with clients directly. I have a true passion for web design and development and am always staying up-to-date on the latest trends. I love reading and learning new things to continue growing in my expertise.

What kinds of businesses have you worked with?
I specialize in web design for businesses of all shapes and sizes. Small, medium, and large sized businesses have trusted me with their web design needs. I’ve also worked with nonprofits, for profits, and various kinds of agencies. Since I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, you can count on me to take my skill set and apply it to your particular business.
Do you have any marketing experience? If so, how do you integrate it into your work?
Yes. I have a great deal of experience with designing websites that feature marketing best practices. I include clear call to actions, ensure the content is compelling, and create a professional look and feel. What do you love most about your job?
Web design gives me the opportunity to wake up each morning and do what I love. I love using best practices to produce high quality websites that help clients meet (and even exceed) their goals. When you succeed, I succeed. Therefore, I will work tirelessly to get the job done right.
I recently produced a website for a local bakery owner who recently reached out to me and told me that Disney found her website and stated that they’d love to partner with her. They mentioned that she had the best website design and stood out from other local bakeries. It’s stories like this that make me love my job.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have always been a go-getter with an entrepreneurial spirit. These web design questions can help you gain a thorough understanding of my web design process.
What can I expect from your web design process?
It all starts with a discovery phase where I work with you to determine your needs and present you with solutions through digital wireframes. After the discovery phase, I’ll use your feedback to design a clean, modern website that is ideal for your target audience and brand. You can this approve this design before I write a single line of code so that there are no surprises once the site is built!
How will we communicate during the web design process?
You can expect me to communicate with you through a combination of phone calls, screen sharing and emails. I’ll also use a product design collaboration platform called inVision to present mockups to you. While I can meet with you in person if you are in the Savannah area, I believe phone calls, emails, and screen sharing can allow us to be more efficient.
Will you review my current website before designing a new one?
Definitely! Reviewing your current website will give me an idea of the content, images, and social media you currently have. I’ll ask you what’s working with your current site, what’s not working, and where you believe your site can improve. You can count on me to provide feedback on what I think we should do to your website moving forward.
